Y a-t-il sujet plus charmant qu’un chat endormi? 

Mais pourquoi y a-t-il une orange à ses côtés? Mystère!

Mis en couleur aux crayons de couleur. 

Le texte est étampé sur une forme amusante, retenue par une attache parisienne

 en forme de coeur dans laquelle sont glissés quelques fils d’or. 

Un gentil petit mot d’amour!

The text is stamped on a fun shape of paper, held by a brad in the shape of a heart 

in which are slipped a few gold threads.

Le gentil chat gris / The sweet grey cat

 

Depuis bientôt deux ans, il y a un chat qui visite mon jardin presque chaque jour.

 Sans collier, je ne sais s’il appartient à quelqu’un, mais en tous cas, il est mignon.

 Alors, en son honneur, j’ai mis celui-ci en couleur, aux crayons, dans des tons de gris qui lui ressemblent un peu.

For nearly two years, there has been a cat that has visited my garden almost every day. 

Without a collar, I don't know if it belongs to someone, but in any case, it is cute.

 So, in his honor, I put this stamped one in color, with pencils, in shades of gray that look a bit like him.

Oups! / Oops!

 

Voilà, alors que vous venez de décorer votre petit jardin ou votre balcon, oups, 

le chat passe et fait tomber une de vos créations… 

Zut, il faut recommencer! 

J’aime tellement cette étampe que j’ai fait deux cartes, à vrai dire, je n’arrivais pas à décider de la couleur du chat! 

Puis, pour ne pas tout simplement laisser le fond de la carte tout blanc, 

j’ai ajouté un motif de pochoir - partout sur une des cartes, à moitié sur l’autre… 

encore cette indécision. J’aime bien les deux!

There you are, when you have just decorated your little garden or your balcony,

 oops, the cat comes by and drops one of your creations… 

Damn, you have to start over!

I love this stamp so much I made two cards, to be honest I couldn't decide what color the cat should be! 

Then, so as not to simply leave the background of the card all white, 

I added a stencil pattern - all over one of the cards, half on the other... 

again this indecision. I like both!

Chat en voilier / Cat in sailboat

Le vent du large qui retrousse les moustaches et le pelage de ce chat qui semble si heureux, 

le voilier sur les vagues ondulantes, les oiseaux qui tournoient… 

un motif qui pourrait bien s’adapter à plusieurs circonstances: 

vacances, voyage, ou comme ici, pour un anniversaire. 

Colorié aux crayons de couleur et un peu d’encre bleu brossée délicatement sur les contours.

The offshore wind that lifts the whiskers and fur of this cat that seems so happy,

 the sailboat on the undulating waves, the birds that whirl... 

a motif that could well adapt to several circumstances: vacation, trip, or like here, for a birthday. 

Colored with colored pencils and a little blue ink gently brushed on the edges.

Vacances au soleil / Sun vacation

Pour tous ceux qui ont le plaisir de se prélasser au soleil cet hiver, 

comme ce chat tout ce qu’il y a de confortable, sous son palmier…

Chat amoureux / Cat in love

Vous savez combien j’aime les chats, alors chaque fois que j’en ai l’occasion, 

je me plais à redécouvrir des étampes charmantes, comme celle-ci. 

Au crayon de couleur, tout simplement…

You know how much I love cats, so every time I have the opportunity, 

I like to rediscover charming stamps, like this one. 

Just in colored pencil... 

Chats de neige / Snow Cats

 

L’hiver c’est aussi la saison pour faire de jolis personnages de neige, 

comme ce joli chat qui se prend pour un chevreuil avec son panache! 

Étampé 2 fois, un en bleu et l’autre en vert, puis rehaussé de crayon de couleur,

 découpé et monté sur des papiers de couleur.

Winter is also the season to make pretty snow characters, like this nice cat who pretends to be a deer with its antlers! 

Stamped twice, one in blue and the other in green, then enhanced with colored pencil, 

cut out and mounted on colored papers.

Chat fleuri / Flowery cat

 Tout le monde qui me connaît un peu (et qui connaît Magenta) connaît l’importance des chats dans ma vie. 

Celui-ci, en plus, combine ma seconde passion: les fleurs!

Je l’ai d’abord étampé sur un rectangle de papier cartonné, centré de manière à garder un espace 

en haut et en bas pour répéter le motif de petite fleur en bordure souple (notez que le motif sort du carton).  

J’ai étampé le chat-fleur une autre fois pour la fleur, et une troisième pour la face du chat.

J’ai mis en couleur aux crayons le chat complet (pas nécessaire de colorier sa face puisqu’elle sera cachée), 

la fleur qui sera découpée et la face du chat à découper également. 

Après découpage, j’ai recourbé les pétales et collé fleur et frimousse du chat 

avec des gommettes pour les surélever.

Un montage sur un rectangle de papier aux couleurs en harmonie, et une touche de marqueur noir complètent le tout. 

Notez que j’ai retracé le mot pour remplacer « miaw » par « miaou » qui sonnait plus français.

Everyone who knows me a bit (and who knows Magenta) knows the importance of cats in my life. 

This stamp, in addition, combines my second passion: flowers!

I stamped it first on a rectangle of cardstock, centered so that I had space at the top and bottom 

to repeat in border the small flower design (note that the design is stamped partly out of the card). 

I stamped the flower cat another time for the flower, and a third time for the face of the cat.

I colored with pencils the complete image (no need to color this face since it will be hidden), 

the flower that will be cut out and the face of the cat to be cut out as well. 

After cutting, I curved the petals and glued the cat's flower and face 

with 3D glue dots to raise them.

A layout on a rectangle of cardstock with colors in harmony, and a touch of black marker complete the whole. 

Note that I retraced the word to replace « miaw » by « miaou » a more French way to meow!

La sieste du chat / The cat's nap

 Un chat qui fait la sieste parmi les fleurs… quelle belle vie!

Le motif est étampé en jaune ocre puis rehaussé de crayon de couleur 

et retracé légèrement, ici et là, au fin marqueur noir.

Le même marqueur noir sert à tracer le cercle au pochoir, 

puis à ajouter du détail : cadre et fleurs.

A cat taking a nap among the flowers… what a beautiful life!

The pattern is stamped in ocher yellow then enhanced with colored pencil 

and traced slightly, here and there, with a fine black marker.

The same black marker is used to trace the circle with a stencil, 

then to add detail: frame and flowers.

Trois chats au jardin / Three cats in the garden

 On dirait bien que j’ai hâte au vrai printemps, celui des arbres en fleurs! 

J’aime bien cette étampe, je la trouve joyeuse, heureuse,

 et ce sont des sentiments bien nécessaires dans nos vies…

Le fond de la carte est fait aux encres à l’alcool, versées en lignes sur le feutre applicateur, 

diluées de la solution spéciale (Blending Solution) et tracées sur un papier cartonné blanc. 

Ici, j’ai utilisé l’envers de ce papier, un fois bien sec, car je le trouvais 

plus subtile que le côté colorié.

L’image des trois chats, étampée en brun foncé sur un carré blanc, 

est rehaussée de crayon de couleur aux tons assortis au fond d’encres à l’alcool. 

Elle y est ensuite collée. Les deux carrés sont encadrés de lignes au marqueur bleu vif, 

et de mini fleurs sont tracés aux coins gauche, chevauchant les deux papiers.

La plus grande des deux fleurs est étampée en bleu, la plus petite en vert, ses pétales coloriés au marqueur bleu. 

Elles sont découpées et collées en bordure verticale.

Looks like I can't wait for the real spring, that of the flowering trees! 

I like this stamp, I find it joyful, happy, and these are very necessary feelings in our lives...

The background of the card is made with alcohol inks, poured in lines on the applicator felt, 

diluted with the Blending Solution and traced on a white cardstock. 

Here, I used the back of this paper, once dry, because I found it more subtle than the colored side.

The image of the three cats, stamped in dark brown on a white square, 

is enhanced with colored pencil in tones to match the background of alcohol inks.

 It is then glued it. The two squares are framed with bright blue marker lines, 

and mini flowers are drawn in the left corners, overlapping the two papers.

The largest of the two flowers is stamped in blue, the small one in green, its petals colored with blue marker. 

They are cut and glued to create a vertical border.

Chat patineur / Skating cat

J’ai tellement aimé patiner dans mon enfance. 

Et ce chat est absolument charmant!

Je l’ai étampé en noir sur un papier cartonné gris foncé. 

Puis, j’ai utilisé des crayons de couleur pour l’enjoliver. 

Le crayon blanc, en particulier, est essentiel pour donner de l’éclat 

à une scène plutôt sombre. 

J’ai choisi une carte ocre, assortie à la fourrure, que j’ai décorée d’un pochoir de flocons, à l’encre bleue. 

Puis j’ai ajouté une bordure en répétant une petite étampe de flocons, rehaussés de marqueur blanc. 

Le titre, étampé en noir sur papier cartonné blanc, est découpé et collé dans le coin, 

là encore pour éclairer la scène, tout comme le carton blanc séparant les deux parties foncées.

I liked skating so much as a kid. And this cat is absolutely charming!

I stamped it in black on a dark gray cardstock. 

Then I used colored pencils to spruce it up. 

White pencil, in particular, is essential for adding light to a rather dark scene.

I chose an ocher card, matching the fur, which I decorated with a snowflake stencil, in blue ink. 

Then I added a border by repeating a small stamp of snowflakes, enhanced with white marker. 

The title, stamped in black on white cardstock, is cut out and glued in the corner,

 again to light up the scene, as is the white cardstock separating the two dark parts.

 

Un chat au jardin / A cat in the garden

 Ce chat au jardin est étampé en encre permanente noire sur du papier glacé (Kromekote). 
Les couleurs délicates sont appliquées au pinceau mouillé à partir de marqueurs

 griffonnés sur une surface non poreuse comme un tapis de bricolage ou une assiette de styromousse par exemple. 

Cela permet de conserver la finesse d’une image détaillée, ce qui est le propre du papier glacé, 

mais cependant d’ajouter de la couleur façon aquarelle, mais en transparence. 

Les montage est fait de deux papiers imprimés de fantaisie.

This cat in the garden is stamped in permanent black ink on glossy cardstock (Kromekote). 

The delicate colors are applied with a wet brush from scribbled markers 

to a non-porous surface such as a craft sheet or styrofoam plate for example. 

This allows you to maintain the finesse of a detailed image, which is characteristic

 of glossy cardstock, adding color like watercolor, but in transparency. 

The layout is made of two fancy printed papers

Chien et chat / Cat and dog

  C’est l’heure de la sieste!

 

Comment ne pas les envier, ils ont l’air si bien? 

L’une et l’autre image sont étampées en noir et rehaussées de crayon de couleur.

 

Pour la carte du chat, le même motif est utilisé en bordure, en ne prenant que les fleurs.

 

Et le texte est merveilleux… pour qui aime les chats, bien sûr.

 

 

 

It's nap time!

 

How not to envy them, they look so good? 

Both images are stamped in black and enhanced with colored pencil.

 

For the cat card, the same pattern is used on the border, taking only the flowers.

 

And the text is wonderful… for those who love cats, of course.

 

Les beaux dimanches de Nathalie / Nathalie’s Sunny Sundays

 

Ces temps-ci, j’ai plaisir à retrouver d’anciens modèles d’étampes de Magenta. J’ai toujours aimé celui-ci, un peu farfelu, pour moi qui aime les chats tout comme les chevaux. Il a un léger parfum de contes de fées qui n’est pas pour me déplaire.

 

La mise en couleur est pratiquement la même, au crayon de couleur. La différence d’effet réside dans la couleur de fond du papier, le beige plus foncé permet d’accentuer les contrastes par l’emploi du crayon blanc.

 

  

These days, I enjoy finding old models of Magenta stamps. I've always loved this one, a little funny, for me who loves cats and horses alike. It has a slight scent of fairy tales which I like too.

 

The coloring is practically the same with colored pencil. The difference in effect lies in the background color of the paper, the darker beige accentuates the contrasts by using white pencil.

J’adore cette étampe qui évoque pour moi certaines familles actuelles, celles dites recomposées. 

Ou une façon de célébrer l’adoption d’un enfant.

Et pourquoi pas l’amitié inter-espèces!

C’est si amusant d’habiller les parents-chats de fourrure en motif de pyjama!

 

La carte horizontale est montée sur deux bandes de papiers. 

Et le motif est encadré d’une bordure de mini fleurs étampées.

 

Pour la carte verticale, le fond est fait aux encres à l’alcool, appliquées en lignes puis picotées, 

dans les deux cas avec un applicateur feutre. 

Deux-trois couleurs et de la solution diluante (Blending Solution).
