Aigrette dans les roseaux / Egret in reeds

 Cette magnifique silhouette d’aigrette est joliment mise en valeur 

en l’étampant simplement en noir sur un fond fait d’encres à l’alcool. 

Quelques lignes d’encres dans des tons de rose, pêche, beige et vert 

sont versées sur le feutre applicateur, 

dilué avec la solution spéciale (Blending Solution) puis tracées sur un papier cartonné blanc. 

Opération qui est répétée jusqu’à ce que tout le papier soit colorié. 

Le tout doit être bien sec avant d’étamper en noir. 

Un motif de chardons est étampé dans le bas pour compléter le paysage.

 Quelques touches de crayon rouge orangé rehaussent les chardons.

This magnificent egret silhouette is beautifully enhanced by simply stamping it 

in black on a background made of alcohol inks. 

A few lines of alcohol ink in shades of pink, peach, beige and green 

are poured onto the felt applicator, 

diluted with Blending Solution and then traced onto white cardstock. 

The process is repeated until all the paper is colored. 

Everything must be completely dry before stamping in black. 

A design of thistles is stamped at the bottom to complete the landscape. 

A few touches of orange-red pencil enhance the thistles.

La mésange d'anniversaire / The birthday chickadee

 Une mésange sur une branche de pommier en fleur, un autre signe de joli printemps.

Sur l’une des cartes la mésange est étampée sur un cercle bleu tracé au pochoir.

 Sur l’autre, c’est un pochoir de fleurs qui orne délicatement le coin de la carte.

 Dans les deux cas le motif est mis en couleur aux crayons de couleur. 

Des détails sont ajoutés au marqueur noir fin.

A chickadee on a blossoming apple tree branch, another sign of lovely Spring.

On one of the cards the chickadee is stamped on a blue circle colored with a stencil. 

On the other, a flower stencil delicately adorns the corner of the card.

In both cases the pattern is colored with colored pencils. 

Details are added in fine black marker.

La sieste du chat / The cat's nap

 Un chat qui fait la sieste parmi les fleurs… quelle belle vie!

Le motif est étampé en jaune ocre puis rehaussé de crayon de couleur 

et retracé légèrement, ici et là, au fin marqueur noir.

Le même marqueur noir sert à tracer le cercle au pochoir, 

puis à ajouter du détail : cadre et fleurs.

A cat taking a nap among the flowers… what a beautiful life!

The pattern is stamped in ocher yellow then enhanced with colored pencil 

and traced slightly, here and there, with a fine black marker.

The same black marker is used to trace the circle with a stencil, 

then to add detail: frame and flowers.

Le mariage des oiseaux / The wedding of the birds

 Pour les jeunes mariés, des cartes mettant en vedette un mignon couple de mésanges!

Les deux cartes utilisent le même pochoir de fleurs encré délicatement et retracé

 au marqueur noir, et du crayon de couleur pour rehausser les oiseaux. 

La carte bleue présente en plus un cercle au pochoir mettant en vedette les oiseaux, façon projecteur.

Sur la carte jaune, un motif de feuillages tout en courbes orne le coin inférieur

 opposé aux oiseaux.

For newlyweds, cards featuring a cute pair of chickadees!

Both cards use the same flower stencil delicately inked and traced in black marker, 

and colored pencil to enhance the birds.

The blue card also uses a stenciled circle featuring the birds, projector style.

On the yellow card, a curved foliage pattern adorns the bottom corner opposite the birds.

La tulipe / The tulip

 Cette fois, si la méthode reste la même que mes cartes précédentes,

 j’ai ajouté une envolée de papillons au pochoir. 

Pour le reste, cercle au pochoir à l’encre bleue délicatement appliquée, 

tulipe mise en couleur aux crayons, marqueur noir pour tracer du décor ici et là…

This time, if the method remains the same as my previous cards, 

I added a flight of stenciled butterflies. 

For the rest, stencil circle with blue ink delicately applied, tulip colored with pencils, 

black marker to draw decoration here and there…

Maman oiseau / Mother bird

Bonne Fête des Mères!

Toujours dans la même série de cartes aux motifs disposés autour d’un cercle,

 voici une image emblématique du printemps : un oiseau et son nid 

plein de jolis petits œufs!

Toujours la même méthode, un cercle au pochoir délicatement colorié d’encre plutôt pâle, 

un ou plusieurs motifs étampés de manière à laisser de la place au texte, 

et des crayons de couleur ou marqueurs pour rehausser l’ensemble.

Ici, le motif de pétales étampé est repris au marqueur noir,

 tracé en petit pour combler les espaces vides.

Happy Mother's Day!

Still in the same series of cards with patterns arranged around a circle, 

here is an emblematic image of Spring: a bird and its nest full of pretty little eggs!

Always the same method, a stencil circle delicately colored in rather pale ink, 

one or more stamped patterns so as to leave room for the text, 

and colored pencils or markers to enhance the whole.

Here, the pattern of stamped petals is repeated in black marker, 

traced in small to fill in the empty spaces.

Fleurs de cornouiller / Dogwood blossoms

 Je suis dans la création d’une petite série de cartes sur le même principe : 

en utilisant le pochoir de cercle pour structurer mes compositions.

Ici, une belle branche de fleurs de cornouillers occupe la gauche, 

laissant un espace pour le texte.

Du crayon de couleur et du marqueur noir viennent rehausser le tout.

I am creating a small series of cards on the same idea: 

using the circle stencil to structure my compositions.

Here, a beautiful branch of dogwood blossoms occupies the left, 

leaving space for text.

Colored pencil and black marker come to enhance the whole.

Fleurs de printemps / Spring flower

J’ai fait plusieurs cartes avec les mêmes éléments, simplement en déplaçant le motif de fleurs, 

permettant de libérer un espace différent pour les textes. 

Le pochoir de cercle est parfait pour structurer une composition simple. 

Ici, j’ai choisi de colorier le rond, donc j’ai pris la partie extérieure plutôt que le cache du cercle. 

Je l’ai encré avec délicatesse, donnant l’accent sur le tour pour garder un centre plus clair, 

et pas trop foncé, surtout où je prévois d’étamper. 

J’ai étampé en jaune ocre mon motif de fleurs et l’ai mis en couleur aux crayons de couleur 

– assez opaque pour ne pas trop que le rond se voit au travers des fleurs.

J’ai étampé mes textes en noir et j’ai rajouté du marqueur noir fin sur certaines parties du motif de fleurs, 

et tracé un cadre fantaisiste, tant autour du cercle que dans le carré de papier cartonné. 

I made several cards with the same elements, simply by moving the flower pattern, 

allowing to free up a different space for the texts.

The circle stencil is perfect for structuring a simple composition. 

Here, I chose to color the circle, so I took the outer part rather than the circle center. 

I inked it delicately, giving the emphasis around to keep the middle lighter, 

and not too dark, especially where I plan to stamp.

I stamped my flower pattern in ocher yellow and colored it with colored pencils –

 opaque enough not to show the circle shape too much through the flowers.

I stamped my texts in black and I added fine black marker on certain parts of the flower pattern, 

and traced a nice border, both around the circle and in the square cardstock.
