Camélias / Camellias

 Cette étampe de camélia, j’ai souvent eu plaisir à l’utiliser de différentes façons, car elle se découpe bien.

Ici, je l’ai étampée 2 fois sur papier cartonné blanc et, après les avoir mises en couleur aux crayons de couleur,

 je les ai découpées. Une entièrement, en laissant un fin contour blanc, l’autre en retirant les feuilles 

pour avoir la fleur seule, et les feuilles à part, sans contour cette fois.

Le fond de la carte est composé de deux lisières de papier vert (celle du haut étampée avec le même motif de camélia) 

et d’une lisière rose étroite. Une fois ces 3 morceaux collés sur la carte, j’ai d’abord collé le camélia complet, 

puis la fleur seule (en recourbant légèrement ses pétales) et j’ai aussi glissé les feuilles 

ici et là pour compléter le tout joliment. 

L’étiquette avec le texte est tenue par un trombone, pour une touche différente.

I often enjoyed using this camellia stamp in different ways, because it cuts well.

 Here, I stamped it twice on white cardstock and, after coloring them 

with colored pencils, I cut them out. One entirely, leaving a fine white outline, 

the other by removing the leaves to have the flower alone, and the leaves apart, 

without an outline this time.

The background of the card is made up of two pieces of green paper (the top one stamped with the same camellia stamp) 

and a narrow pink strip. Once these 3 pieces were glued on the card, I first glued the complete camellia, 

then the flower alone (by slightly bending its petals) and I also slipped the leaves 

here and there to complete the whole thing nicely.

The label with the text is held by a paper clip, for a different touch.

Camélia bleu / Blue Camellia

 Le pochoir de mandala est colorié 2-3 fois, plus ou moins foncé, sur un papier cartonné blanc. 

L’étampe de camélia est étampée trois en noir dans le coin supérieur droit, 

et une fois sur un papier pour la découper. 

Le motif de feuillage, lui, est étampé sur la gauche. 

Mon encre n’était pas assez noire, donc j’ai retracé les feuillages au marqueur noir, 

puis tracé quelques lignes au crayon blanc.

Le camélia à découper est colorié aux crayons. 

Le montage joue sur le contraste du bleu et du rouge.

The mandala stencil is colored 2-3 times, more or less dark, on white cardstock.

 The camellia stamp is stamped three times in black in the upper right corner,

 and once on a paper to cut it. 

The foliage pattern is stamped on the left. 

My ink wasn't black enough, so I traced the leaves in black marker, 

then drew a few lines in white pencil.

The camellia to be cut out is colored with pencils. 

The layout plays on the contrast of blue and red.
